Celebrating Summer with Smiles: A Recap of One Culture's 2023 School Holiday Program

The One Culture Support Services School Holidays Team would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all of the participants and families who joined us for our 2023 Summer School Holiday Program in Adelaide. After the positive feedback that we have received, it’s clear that the program was a huge success and we couldn’t be prouder!

We wanted to create a NDIS funded program that had a mix of group activities for people living with disabilities that were both incredibly fun, but enabled our participants to build on a number of skills at the same time. Firstly, with the goal of encouraging interaction and confidence amongst participants, we took them on memorable trips to places such as Gorge Wildlife Park, Bounce, Hahndorf’s strawberry picking, bowling and ice skating, among others. Each of these activities encouraged the participants to form new friendships, work on their communication skills and most importantly, make memories that last a lifetime.

Our second lot of activities were specifically selected to challenge the participants and help them develop their problem-solving, decision-making and teamwork skills. These included activities such as West Beach Adventure Park, Base Camp and Woodhouse Activity Centre. All of these activities were supported by our One Culture’s staff who were always there to encourage others to reach their goals and have a blast!

We had such a great time meeting so many new faces and welcoming back our returning participants too. We are already hard at work planning our next School Holiday Program to provide even more exciting experiences for our participants. If you have any suggestions of activities that you would like to see next time, please feel free to let us know by contacting us on info@oneculturegroup.org

Keep an eye on our website for announcements regarding our upcoming School Holiday Program, which will run for two weeks from April 17th to April 28th. Head to our website here for more information on our SA School Holiday Program here and our NSW School Holiday Program here.
